It is easy to forget sometimes that we are at the very beginning with this sport. I am sure most stand up paddlers can recall that first time out on a board, I certainly can (thanks to Andy Cooper for that !) and if you have never tried stand up paddling, but are curious to give it a go this is a great article about that experience. David Waddington, who earlier this year had his first SUP lesson, shares his experience.

Tez has had an epiphany and loves stand up paddle surfing, but has also discovered the lonelyness of the long distance paddle surfer. One of the advantages of the sport is that access to remote off shore breaks is possible with stand up paddle surfing, however it often means you are surfing alone. Does anyone want to join Tez out at Hayling Island ? |

We first started researching Werner Paddles when they got in touch with us recently. A quick look around the Werner website and I ended up on the blog reading an amazing story about Dave Collins Stand Up Paddle exploring around Vancouver island. I have been there myself and it is quite hard to express how "wild" it is out there. Bears walk down the beach, Sea Eagles fly above you and Orcas lurk in the depths. You defiantely are not top of the food chain here ! |
