Nigel from White Air has sent us the latest press release about the festival and the plans for the BSUPA event. It looks like its going to be a really good weekend, we will be there !

BSUPA Championships information for competitors:
Date: 20/21 Sept
Location: The main venue will be Yaverland, Isle of Wight (surf event might use other locations on the day)
Travel: Wightlink Ferries are sponsoring the festival and will be providing discounted fares for competitors and spectators.
Routes are: Lymington-Yarmouth (40mins to event site) or Portsmouth-Fishbourne (15mins to event site)
Head towards Sandown (south east IOW) and then east (left if facing the sea) along the seafront.
Parking is opposite in the car park at the Zoo.

Competitor area: Please carry your gear along the footpath to the upper field which is right on the beach. We have supplied a marquee and rigging area here for your use.
You will receive free entry to all parties, day time and live music evenings when you enter. All entertainment is onsite.
Friday live groups all day, 8-late dj party in the beach bar
Sat live music all day, Pigeon Detectives evening 6-10pm live stage, Rob Da Bank party 10pm-late beach bar.
We have set-up many other things to do so that hopefully you will have a great weekend of fun whatever the weather and whatever the surf decides to do.

White Air is one of Europe’s premier festivals and now in its 12th year.
Each year it changes and just gets bigger and bigger and September 19th-21st this year is no exception. With some 25 sports, European and UK Championships on and off the water plus an amazing line-up of groups for the live stage including the Pigeon Detectives and parties at the beach bar with Bestival and Radio Ones’ Rob Da Bank this is certainly one not to miss!
Events include UK BSUPA Championships Stand Up Paddle board, European Thundercat Powerboat Championships, UK Windsurfing Freestyle Championships, European Mountain Board Freestyle Championships, Skate pro’s on the new mini ramp and street course, Flatland BMX, FMX Freestyle, Kitesurfing, Bocking, Wakeboarding, Surfing and the many more sports, arts and music, that have been added to make the complete and ultimate action sports festival that White Air has evolved into.
The Red Arrows will be there in force with a full 23 minute display on Saturday morning and then another full display on the Sunday morning as well. The pilots will then fly back by helicopter to be onsite and meet the public at White Air in the afternoon. Red Arrows Flight simulators will also be on site at the main White Air village for all to try.
The RAF Falcons are the world’s leading parachute display team and they will be dropping in to open the festival on Friday 19th at 11am and back again on Saturday 20th at 10am.
The Pigeon Detectives will headline the music stage, incorporating 3 days and evenings and a great line-up of top local groups, new groups on the scene, plus The Operators, Mamas Gun, Sam Issac, for the big Saturday live stage and party night with Rob Da Bank on the decks!
The ‘Have a go’ is also back and provides the public with the chance to try the sports they see in this interactive side of White Air. Last year nearly 5000 people tried out sports at White Air so why not come and join them, sign up and taste the sports!
