So who are all the people here at SUPGlobal who contribute articles, thoughts and their time to the online magazine ? Many of them are established in the water sports industry in their respective countries and some are new names, but all have a passion for spreading the word about stand up paddle surfing!
Matt Argyle has been involved in stand up paddle surfing since its introduction to the UK. One of the first few people to get a board in January 2007, just at first for fitness reasons, to compliment his surfing on days when the waves went flat. As with so many SUPers the realisation that surfing these boards is such an amazing experience soon saw him taking out the SUP as the weapon of choice in the waves.
Matt is currently (2009) the Chairman of the British Stand Up Paddle Association, a dedicated musician and pays the mortgage by developing websites and e-learning solutions for the University of Chichester. He rides GONG stand up paddle boards and uses Kialoa paddles, but he is also on the test team for SUPGlobal trying out and reviewing all the latest stand up paddle surfing kit.

Christian Tez Plavenieks
Originally from Staffordshire, but after learning to surf at a young age I quickly realized that living in the middle of the country was most definitely not for me! I also decided that I wanted to travel and thought that if I combined the two, that would be me content! I decided to do my instructors qualification in surfing and enrolled on a 3 month residential course that included surfing but also windsurfing, kayaking and sailing, so through sheer fate I found windsurfing. After getting qualified I worked overseas for a number of seasons in Europe, the Caribbean and the French Alpes (which is where I discovered snowboarding) before returning to the South Coast (Hayling Island) to continue surfing and windsurfing and hopefully earn some better money by doing a real job. Found SUP through sheer fate after breaking my ankle and being advised that it would help with my rehab. Haven't looked back since. Love riding waves, massive forward loops, shredding fresh powder, playing my drums, drawing and painting, my girlfriend (Fi), pet hamster (Milo), spreading the SUP stoke and pasties! Hate doing the real job!
